OCR and dictionary accuracy

Manchu OCR beta provides automated transcriptions and dictionary lookups as research aids. OCR results, word matches, and dictionary definitions may contain errors or reflect historical usage. A dictionary match does not establish the meaning of a word in its context.

Compare results with the original scan and relevant sources before citing, publishing, or relying on them.

Dictionary sources

The existing English dictionary and the QWJ (清文鑑) dictionary are shown separately with source labels. QWJ entries include Chinese glosses and Manchu definitions in romanization. Missing or approximate matches should be checked manually.

Uploaded images and saved results

Uploaded images, processed image regions, and OCR results are sent to the server and saved to support your workflow and its restoration. Upload only material you have permission to process, and avoid uploading confidential or sensitive material.

Saving workflow data does not establish consent for model training. Any proposed use of uploads for training requires a separate, explicit policy and consent process.
